The Stirring, the Spirit, and the Suffering

Preacher:
Passage: 2 Timothy 1:6-12

We all have a spiritual gift. And the Lord expects us to stir up and employ that gift for His glory. But either through neglect or rebellion, sometimes our gifts fade into “disrepair” and become cold.

We must stir up, “fan into flame”, the gifts we have been given. And then understand what Spirit we are of. That timidity is not supposed to be part of our life. But “power, love, and self-control” are meant to be characteristic of our manner of life.

But it brings suffering. The Christian life is not comfortable, or free of sorrow. But that suffering is so minuscule compared to the enteral glory and reward we are promised.

Listen, be encouraged, be challenged, and let the Spirit stir you up!
